- Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related discipline from an accredited institution
- 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing setting
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder')
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Howmet environmental policies/procedures and self-assessment/audit process is preferable
- 1 years of molten metal experience
- 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing setting
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Full time, first shift. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting/Pushing/Pulling: Moderately Heavy - Limited to 40 pounds
- Standing/Walking: Moderate 40 - 60% or more of workday
- Bending/Twisting: Light 10% or more of workday
- Temperature Extremes (percent of time working in non-climate controlled, production environment): Moderate 40 - 60% of workday
- Noise: Hearing protection always required in shop and on production floor

Major Activities and Key Challenges:
The primary focus of this position will be to drive and support safety and fatality prevention activities for HWS Cleveland Operations:
- Assess and monitor site compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations; works with plant personnel to ensure compliance
- Actively seeks out hazards and works with department leadership to address
- Facilitate EHS incident prevention and investigation processes and prepare reports to appropriate agencies
- Provides oversight of location EHS self-assessment (audit) process and coaching of location Single Point Accountable (SPAs) persons
- Guides new equipment design discussions and start up reviews
- Develops and conducts EHS-related training sessions
- Analyses data and reports necessary for corrective / preventive actions and gaps
- Collaborates in the development and implementation of EHS policy and procedures
- Maintains records and documents as they pertain to the EHS Management System
- Work closely with site management and other members of the EHS team
- Adheres in full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Howmet's Code of Conduct
