The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will consult and work with location leaders to create, implement, coordinate, and continuously improve safety programs/processes for the Building Accessories division. Provides consultation and direction to ensure programs and services are consistently implemented with the highest level of environmental, health and safety standards. Audits policies and procedures to ensure compliance and applicability to current business needs. This position reports to the divisional EHS Director.
Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will consult and work with location leaders to create, implement, coordinate, and continuously improve safety programs/processes for the Building Accessories division. Provides consultation and direction to ensure programs and services are consistently implemented with the highest level of environmental, health and safety standards. Audits policies and procedures to ensure compliance and applicability to current business needs. This position reports to the divisional EHS Director.
Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)
- Ensure overall EHS compliance of all manufacturing facilities and office operations within federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Drive and instill a culture of safety that embraces continuous improvement and accountability.
- Oversight of local safety team initiatives and divisional EHS contractors and suppliers.
- Lead and manage EHS metrics dashboard(s) including safety management reports.
- Develop and deploy a divisional EHS training and orientation curriculum.
- Assess, recommend, and implement EHS programs/processes across all manufacturing sites.
- Conduct divisional safety meetings with site safety representatives to support local facility safety leaders/teams.
- Leads the development and maintenance of divisional EHS training programs and systems.
- Mentor site leadership as needed, to augment and support the efforts in moving to a best practice organization in terms of world-class compliance, programs, and processes.
- Conduct and perform multiple site audits to ensure compliance with EHS regulatory and corporate requirements while implementing incident reduction initiatives.
- Assists management in identifying employee injury causation trends, and mitigation options for reducing injury frequency and severity.
- Applies and interprets occupational health rules and consensus standards (i.e. ANSI) to enhance understanding of compliance with appropriate standards and controls.
- Performs administrative duties associated with the specific duties of the position.
- Work with EHS Director to determines OSHA recordability for appropriate record keeping and provides divisional reporting as required.
- Works with HR, Insurance company, doctors, and employee regarding Workers' Compensation cases.
- Delivers EHS projects on time and on budget.
- Work with peers on continuous improvement project teams determined by EHS Director.
- EHS leader for approval of new/altered equipment prior to production runs.
- Division-wide communication for guidance, learning and reduction of injuries.
- Travel regularly to sites to ensure compliance, consistency, and results of programs.
- 50% domestic travel
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or a combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety supporting multiple sites
- 3 years of experience in Manufacturing
