EHS Specialist - AMG Vanadium

Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities, implementation, and administration of environmental, health and safety programs at our manufacturing sites in Cambridge and Zanesville, Ohio.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead by example and comply with all internal and external environmental and safety regulations, policies, procedures, and systems; promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility with employee engagement as a core pillar • Foster a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG’s Values and culture; set expectations for compliance with the AMG Code of Business Conduct and all other Company policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental permit requirements, and company standards
• Assist with development of site environmental and safety policies and procedures
• Support day-to-day activities, implementation, and administration of environmental health and safety programs
• Promote and enforce safe work practices at the site and while developing a culture of safety with employee engagement as a core pillar
• Conduct regular environmental and safety audits and inspections
• Assist with environmental and safety communication and reporting
• Interact with regulatory agencies as required to maintain compliance with all applicable standards
• Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 program administration and maintenance
• Ensure and support the timely completion of safety and environmental incident investigations, driving to root cause and corrective action
• Encourage and promote the use of safer work equipment, materials, and supplies
• Support implementation of employee health initiatives and programs
• Assist with management of contractor safety program and training
• Active participating member of the site Safety Council
• Participate, train, and execute drills/exercises on responsible management of emergency situations

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

• Associate degree in environmental, occupational health and safety, or related field or two years relevant experience
• Experience in environmental, health and safety management in industrial setting
• RCRA and/or Title V Air Permit experience beneficial, preferably for a Large Quantity Generator
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 experience helpful
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards (PPE, Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tag out, Blood Borne Pathogen, Machine Guarding, Forklift, Hazard Communication), ANSI, NEC, NFPA
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
• Desire and ability to spend time on shop floor in regular engagement with frontline supervisors and employees
• Strong coaching and leadership skills
• Ability to understand technical processes; mechanical aptitude and project management skills valuable
• Data analysis skills; administrative skills useful
• Good follow through skills, as well as heightened attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Project
• Ability to work flexible schedule as needed
• Comfortable with confidentiality principles
