Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide advanced life support (ALS) care to patients.
- Assess the condition of patients and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Administer medications, perform advanced airway management, and provide other advanced medical procedures as needed.
- Safely transport patients to healthcare facilities while providing continuous medical care en route.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and reports.
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of emergency vehicles and medical equipment.
- Stay up-to-date with current medical protocols and procedures through ongoing training and education.
- Provide support and assistance to other emergency medical personnel as needed.
- Participate in community outreach and education programs related to emergency medical services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in emergency medical services is preferred.
- Current certification as a Paramedic by the [Insert Relevant Certification Body, e.g., National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)].
- Valid state Paramedic license.
- Current CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of emergency medical protocols and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Work Environment:
- The Paramedic will work in a variety of settings, including ambulances, healthcare facilities, and outdoor environments.
- The role may involve exposure to potentially hazardous situations and requires the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
