- You will be responsible for coordinating programs or projects within the branch.
- You will provide technical direction on work processes and content, issues/problems pertaining to Explosives Safety Hazard Classification, Transportation, and Storage Program Management.
- You will provide technical support on explosives safety classification/testing to evaluate testing/mitigation techniques and new energetics and explosive materials and ordnance items for transportation and storage.
- You will serve as a technical consultant for Hazard Classification in the formulation and implementation of conventional explosives safety regulations, criteria and policies applicable to hazard classification of ammunition and explosives.
- You will provide technical guidance to Navy/Marine Corps activities worldwide, as well as private industry involved in DON contracts, for hazard classification of ammunition and explosives.
- You will review test data and recommends interim hazard classification for ammunition items and explosives substances to permit safe transportation and storage.
- You will prepare data and control records for submission into the Joint Hazard Classification System (JHCS).
- You will review and prepare final hazard classification packages for forwarding to the Defense Department Explosives Safety Board.
- You will review hazard classification test plans.
- You will participate on various agency working groups involved in the establishment of new explosives safety policies and standards related to hazard classifications.
- You will be responsible to identify, develop and implement recommendations/solutions to problems, risks, and potential outcomes in the assigned program area.
- You will manage all technical efforts to ensure reliability and accuracy to related problems.
