About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Emergency Department **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Days, 07:00-19:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 or 48 per week **Experience:** 1 year in Emergency Department in a Level 1 facility or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility **License:** Current RN License meeting criteria for eligibility or currently licensed in the state **Certifications:** - Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA only; TNCC, NIHSS (may be submitted without but must obtain prior to start) - Preferred: Trauma/peds experience **Must-Have:** - Experience in a busy urban trauma center - High acuity experience preferred - Determined, decisive, and flexible personality **Job Description:** - Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care - Maintain professional accountability for patient care provision - Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers - Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments - Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information - Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards - Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation - Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort - Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice - Exhibit skill in human relations and communications - Demonstrate clinical expertise in the area of responsibility **Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements:** - Stand and walk most of the time on duty - Lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs - Work in a clean, air-conditioned area - Physical demands include push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
