Early Career Accountant
Lexicon is seeking an early career Accountant to perform a variety of tasks in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of accounting and financial principles. Our Accounting Department operates with high levels of efficiency and attention to detail, and the Accountant must be able to provide excellent customer service and work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process and code invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
- Verify accuracy of client matter codes, office codes and disbursement codes.
- Set up new vendors and maintain vendor database.
- Ensures that charges are routed for approval and authorized for payment.
- Prepare and process electronic check requests to be printed at multiple locations.
- Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Generate all invoices for A/R; prepare daily bank deposit; post client payments.
- Handle special projects spread across the A/P, A/R, and Billing departments.
- Work closely with internal and external departments maintaining process workflows and work instructions.
- Assist with month end processes.
- Assist with other accounting duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Qualifications
- 1 year of full cycle Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable preferred.
- Prior internship experience preferred.
- Experience with coding and posting invoices preferred.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detailed oriented & extremely organized.
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage time and resources efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
