About the Job
The Grizzlies are seeking a dynamic individual to work in a fast-paced environment as our Community Engagement Education Coordinator. The ideal candidate will help implement and administer effective outreach programs and events; under our pillars of education, health and fitness, and service; with a strong focus on educational programming. As coordinator s/he are primarily responsible to drive high levels of participation in, and commitment to these pillars. S/he will develop and implement strategies to increase visibility and storytelling of the Grizzlies community efforts by executing key outreach initiatives and developing meaningful relationships with local organizations throughout the Mid-South.
In This Role You Will:- Actively lead community initiatives, including but not limited to brainstorming and executing team event activations as well as gathering relevant market research;
- Develop relationships with local community organizations throughout the Mid-South to continue to strengthen the relationship between the team and the community;
- Familiarity with creating and/or expanding existing education programs;
- Skilled in curriculum development of STEAM, financial literacy, and reading based programs;
- Ability to plan and execute special events. Including but not limited to setup of the events, coordinating vendor relations, equipment rentals and marketing/communications needs;
- Support all team appearances as needed;
- Assist with execution of game night duties related to the needs of the department;
- Provide special project support or other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Non-profit Management, Public Relations, Communications, Public Policy, Marketing, Sports Management, or other closely related field.
- 2-3 minimum years of related experience working in a school or other field focused on student curriculum and advancement.
- Notable experience within corporate social responsibility, community relations, philanthropy, cause-marketing, nonprofit management.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to multitask.
- Strong teamwork and cross-group collaboration.
- Ability to plan and work with minimum supervision, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, and ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of issues and best practices related to education programming, and community development.
- Familiarity with silent auctions and/or fundraising platforms.
- Strong communication skills and business etiquette; ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
- Comfortable with public speaking at engagements and during events.
- Ability to work evenings, weekend, or holidays as needed.
