Early Learning Center- Educational Program Supervisor
Ensures an inviting and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for students and families. Utilizes the High Scope Curriculum in conjunction with ongoing assessment of learners through the CT Documentation and Observation for Teaching System (CT DOTS). Ensures adherence to local and national accrediting bodies and participates in monitoring visits to ensure quality improvement is an ongoing process. Hires, orients, and mentors’ staff; as well as provides weekly supervision to all staff assigned in the early learning center. Coordinates professional development opportunities and serves as the educational and administrative leader of the program. Implements appropriate behavior management systems within the classroom setting, while utilizing a trauma-informed framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans for and ensures the delivery of all required services to each client in the program.
- Works closely with collateral agencies to ensure appropriate transition and discharge planning for clients and/or students.
- Works closely with program staff and other stakeholders to ensure the continuity of services.
- Serves as operational administrator of the program, which includes functions such as business leadership, facilities/grounds management, etc.
- Attends all relevant trainings and planning meetings.
- Provides culturally competent services to all clients and families.
- Participates in regular program meetings.
- Provides supervision to all staff within program, if required by program.
- Ensures documentation as required is entered into the data system in a timely fashion.
- Ensures that the program census is maintained.
- Works as part of a larger multidisciplinary team to respond to client and programmatic needs and with the agency at large.

Required Experience:
Education and Licensure:
- Master’s degree in early childhood or related field preferred. A State issued education administrator or director credential preferred or Bachelor's degree required.
EXPERIENCE
- Must be able to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to manage stress and respond to emergency situations safely and calmly.
- Must have a thorough understanding of client needs (behavioral, social, emotional).
- Must be culturally competent to serve our student population.
- Must possess solid general computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
