START ASAP- Election Support Staff - L&A/ClearBallot roles in Miami-Dade County; this is a unique opportunity to engage in the democratic processes for the County!.
We are looking for Staff Members who come in for In-Person interview and the date will be confirmed upon your confirmation.
In this role you will be in support roles for upcoming election in Miami Dade County.
Schedule: 40 hours a week, Overtime as needed.
Pay Rate: $20.34/hour
Duration: Sep/Oct for 2 weeks to 2 months, with the over time if required
SCHEDULE COMMITMENT:
This position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; including extended/weekend shifts as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass background screening
- Must have a valid FL driver's license.
- Be able to pass background screening and Drug Test (mandatory).
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED. College degree or some college work is preferred.
- Some knowledge or experience in computer and/or technological processes is preferred.
- Two years of work experience is required.
- This is a clerical and technical position that involves moderately complex work methods and situations. The L&A/ClearBallot Section is tasked with privately and publicly testing all voting equipment machines, reviewing complex data sets and worksheets, utilization of logistics machinery (e.g. pallet jacks, hand carts, etc.), scanning of voted ballots for all voting methods through an automated auditing system, and any other task asked by the department that may be pertinent to a given election(s) cycle.
- Employees in this class conduct a variety of assignments requiring the application of independent judgment, working in groups, and a combination of logistical and clerical knowledge. Specific areas of responsibility include but, are not limited to adhering to federal, state, and local laws and ordinances in relation to the performance of L&A/ClearBallot's section duties; providing effective and efficient communication amongst co-workers, supervisors, and other sections/divisions; executing duties to ensure compliance with mandated deadlines; and maintaining adequate productivity levels to safeguard established performance guidelines.
- Supervision is received from section management who reviews work through daily productivity reports and personal conferences to ensure assignments are completed in a satisfactory manner.
- Data entry and quality assurance of data sets and other worksheets; ensuring appropriate procedure is applied to each task as outlined by the
- Communicate all issues and concerns to the appropriate department supervisor.
- Preparation of test materials for private and public testing of voting equipment machines.
- Verification and quality assurance of test materials
- As detailed by department management ensure items scanned through auditing system are compliant with the documented procedures
- Assist with any logistical work. For example, moving items within department, use of pallet jacks and/or hand carts (will be trained), inventory management, etc.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer and technology processes—some knowledge of computer programming is preferred, but not required.
- General knowledge of office practices, etiquette, and procedures.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make minor decisions in accordance with procedures, laws, and ordinances and apply to work situations under the guidance of the section's Supervisor and/or Manager.
