Electrical Engineer - Education Construction - Cordoba Corporation

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our Education & Facilities Sector. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of six years of electrical engineering design experience in public agency, school construction or large capital commercial projects. 

• Develops an in-depth knowledge of the electrical contractual requirements for the project.
• Ensures compliance with designs and controls of electrical systems in construction projects.
• Finalizes and approves preliminary designs and drawings submitted by lower-level electrical engineers for projects that involve major alterations to electrical systems.
• Ensures compliance with LA Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) and other public agencies and utility companies for details related to electrical engineering projects.
• Conducts site visits and oversees the installation, testing and operations in the construction project to ensure adherence to approved electrical drawings, specifications and code.
• Analyzes electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needs and then develops a system and budget plan.
• Develops and monitors maintenance, testing procedures and quality assurance and enforces safety regulations for electrical and electronic components and equipment.
• Summarizes and presents data and report on test results to the Supervising Electrical Engineer and upper management.
• Inspects electrical and electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations.
• Evaluates systems and recommend repair or design modifications or correct deficiencies and resolve issues during construction; evaluates cost proposals and contractors’ requests for adjustments; provides evaluations to supervisor.
• Plans and develops applications and modifications for electrical and electronic components used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
• Oversees site work elements within the discipline and provides early notification of potential schedule slippages caused by the electrical construction activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Six (6) years of electrical engineering design experience in public agency, school construction or large capital commercial projects OR a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering issued by the California State Board of Registration of Civil and Professional Engineers.

Salary Range: $125,000 to $140,000 per year.

Work Environment: Onsite
