We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Electrical Engineer within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Geismar, Louisiana.
Essential Job Duties:
· Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and or transport our products, as our highest priority.

· Assure compliance to PSM standards (MOC’s, PSSR’s, Procedures, Audits, etc.)
· Provides technical and managerial support for repairs of equipment including cost estimation, fund requisition, planning and scheduling manpower and equipment, material specification and procurement, and overall project management including cost control.
· Provides engineering guidance on the replacement of equipment to ensure the proper replacement is specified and installed correctly. Involves evaluation of replacement options from both an electrical and maintenance viewpoint, research of records to ensure accurate specification of parameters which may have been changed, and in many cases a cost estimated proposal to submit for approval.
· Investigates and recommends solutions to equipment related problems which affect plant processes and/or production capability.
· Investigates electrical failures to determine the cause and engineer through variety of resources including soliciting outside help, an improvement to prevent recurrence.
· Provides support to the electrical and instrument maintenance department on a daily basis including specific technical information for equipment, assistance in the use of sophisticated instruments and tools and recommendations of repair techniques to be used.
· Specifies type and inventory of spare parts to be stocked in the stores warehouse for new installations, plant changes and equipment deletions.
· Develop/improve testing, monitoring, and calibration procedures for electrical equipment. Monitor equipment performance and make recommendations to improve reliability and reduce cost.
· Manage the identification, development, and implementation of new maintenance PM programs.
· Assist in planning, procurement, scheduling, and supervising activities related to major outages/turnarounds.
· Manage the Maintenance Electrical capital projects.
· Provide plant interface with Corporate Electrical Steward to ensure compliance with corporate directives and Guidelines.
· Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70) and the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E)
· Experience with electrical equipment up to the 230KV level.

Qualifications
· BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
· Prefer 3 or more years of electrical maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing or related industry.
· High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to read, speak and write in English.
· Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
· Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
· Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.
· Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
Additional Desired Qualifications
· Knowledge of Rectifiers.
· Knowledge of NERC and SERC regulations.
· Good working knowledge of SAP.
