Our Client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Oshkosh, WI.
This is a long-term contract role with a pay rate of $52.45. Possible extension or direct hire.
Position Overview:
Oshkosh Defense is looking for an Engineer – Electrical with expertise in electrification hardware integration. The candidate will support the design, analysis, and development of reliable, functional, and cost-effective electrical systems for heavy-duty vehicles. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to innovative projects in the defense industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks in accordance with industry standards and processes under the guidance of Senior Engineers
- Assist in the preparation of electrical plans, designs, and reports for vehicle systems and subsystems
- Support design and re-design of electrical parts/components to meet quality, cost, reliability, and manufacturing specifications
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, on various engineering tasks
- Provide technical assistance during prototype, pilot, or production builds, resolving manufacturing issues as needed
- Support the development and documentation of change notices, proposals, and engineering prints
- Ensure compliance with safety and high voltage system standards
- Regular attendance and participation in team meetings and reviews
Interview Process:
- Virtual Interview (Teams Video) – 1-2 rounds
Minimum Qualifications:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with internship experience OR six (6) months of related work experience
- Electrification hardware integration experience (e.g., generators, inverters, converters)
- Understanding of high voltage systems and high voltage safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience creating one-line architecture diagrams
- Familiarity with programming languages and controls software
- Knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 and/or vehicle networking
- Experience in automotive or heavy equipment design and repair
- Wire harness design experience

- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
- Strong analytical skills for decision-making and problem-solving within standard policies and procedures
- Ability to handle structured tasks while evaluating and applying alternatives or precedents as needed
