The Electrical Engineer will play an important part in the design and development of novel medical devices working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve successful product development.
**This is not a remote opportunity. This position is based in Lenexa, KS. Candidate must either be local or willing to re-locate to the Kansas City metro area.

Vantage MedTech is seeking a highly motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team. The Electrical Engineer will play an important part in the design and development of novel medical devices working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve successful product development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Function as the electrical engineering authority to lead electrical design during medical device product development programs from concept through commercial manufacturing.
- Promote the use of industry best-practices regarding emerging technologies, risk mitigations, and general hardware development standards amongst fellow team members.
- Understanding technical requirements and stakeholder feedback and translating those inputs into effective architectural designs and hardware solutions.
- Participate with the risk management team in the development of any risk documentation (FMEA, OTS, HA, FTA, etc.).
- Solve complex system challenges involving multiple software and/or hardware subsystems.
- Use sound hardware engineering principles to ensure that developed hardware is of high quality, maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant.
- Work with team members to understand, profile, estimate complexity for project work items, and lead design reviews.
- Develop schematics – digital, analog and mixed signal designs and support PCB designs, layout, and routing of sub-assemblies and systems.
- Manage schematic entry, board and component layout, creating and maintaining parts libraries.
- Develop test plans and board bring up (hands on) for initial prototypes.
- Analog signal manipulation (scaling, filtering, amplifying, converting).
- Work with printed circuit board manufacturers and assembly houses to create PCBs.
- Evaluate customer provided prototype, benchmarking performance, and manufacturing viability.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in direct design contributor’s role.
- Experience in generating electrical design documentation and technical reports.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
- Extensive knowledge of analog/digital circuitry and printed circuit board assembly process.
- Exceptional ability to use hardware schematic capture software (Altium preferred).
- Exceptional ability to use testing tools such as oscilloscopes, programmable power supply, digital multimeter, and waveform generator to test hardware functionality.
