Conceptualize, develop, implement and maintain new and existing product designs using sound electrical engineering principles in support of company business development efforts, marketing plans and department plans. Analyze specifications, as well as business, technology and cost requirements, and implement appropriate, approved designs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Take steps necessary to ensure product availability, reliability, performance, and customer acceptance.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conceptualize, develop, implement and maintain new and existing product designs using sound electrical engineering principles in support of company business development efforts, marketing plans and department plans. Analyze specifications, as well as business, technology and cost requirements, and implement appropriate, approved designs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Take steps necessary to ensure product availability, reliability, performance, and customer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptualize and develop material handling products using sound electrical engineering principles
- Problem solving using proven techniques to deliver root cause analysis and design alternatives
- Adhere to suitable design and documentation practices and methodologies
- Develop and maintain cost projections against established targets throughout the development cycle
- Provide quality assurance for output as well as serving as a cross checking resource
- Supervise functional as well as accelerated life testing to ensure product reliability and performance
- Support customers in product use and application
- Support vendors in product and sub-component fabrication
- Adhere to project timelines and budgets
- Participate in department projects as requested
- Participate on, as well as lead, company teams as requested
- Assist in the development of specifications for new products and enhancements
- Provide support and documentation to enable company staff to quote and source materials
- Create, publish and maintain departmental procedures as requested
- Participate in the identification and recommendation of new material handling technology solutions
- Serve as a technical resource to other departments as required
- Design and document new electrical designs
- Oversee the efforts of external contractors and vendors as required
- Oversee the proper application of our products from quotation to run-off
- Develop and maintain organized supporting design calculations and information
- Create and maintain CAD product design documentation in AutoCAD/Solidworks
- Create and maintain product bills of material and routings in CSI (Syteline)
- Ensure product continuity by addressing component availability and obsolescence issues
- Execute engineering change notices as required
- Coordinate efforts with Mechanical Engineers, Product Software Engineers, and Technicians
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year Electrical Engineering degree
- 2+ years of professional experience minimum
- Ability to meet tight deadlines with high quality requirements
- Project and task management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience with Solidworks or AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Smartsheet
- Material handling product knowledge
