Design for Leisure (DFL) is a team of hydrothermal spa specialists working in partnership with owners, operators, architects and designers to bring European-inspired hydrotherapy concepts to life. Our expertise in building best-in-class wet areas ranges from small but luxurious residential thermal suites to the acclaimed Canyon Ranch hydrothermal circuit at the Venetian Resort (Las Vegas, NV), considered the largest day spa in the U.S.
What We're Looking For:
DFL is looking for an Electrical Technician willing to work in a fast-paced, multinational company. This position will require experience in installing and maintaining electrical systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing customer training and support. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to join a growing company in the unique wellness industry, has exemplary problem-solving and communication skills, with experience in construction or related industries.
What Your Day Looks Like:
Installation and Maintenance: Perform installations and maintenance on various equipment and electrical systems for saunas, steam rooms, spa pools, experience showers, snow rooms, etc.
Coordination: Determine wiring and rough-in requirements for equipment installation and pre-construction coordination. Interact with site electricians to ensure correct services are provided, often involving pre-construction meetings and daily MEP coordination meetings.
Compliance and Testing: Ensure DFL complies with all electrical code requirements. Install cable and conduits using provided wiring diagrams and adhering to local electrical codes. Test and program digital control systems.
Client Training: Provide clients with maintenance guidelines and best practices to prolong the lifespan of the installations. Post-installation, installers commission the rooms and conduct formal owner-training and handover.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Steam generators, sauna heaters, hydronic heating manifolds, lighting systems, and digital control systems are some of the many equipment items you will become familiar with.
Specifying and Warranty Service: Assist DFL team with specifying and procurement of specialty equipment for controls, heating, and cooling applications. Provide high-quality customer service, including explaining technical details to non-technical customers.
Documentation and Safety: Accurately record all service and repair activities. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.
Continuous Learning and Team Collaboration: Stay updated with the latest technologies and techniques in the field. Work closely with team members and other departments to ensure cohesive service delivery. Opportunities to assist with installation teams on-site.
Required Skills:
Ability to work with electrical systems including wiring, circuit breakers, and electrical equipment. A good understanding of electrical codes and safety standards is crucial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to diagnose and repair faults in MEP systems, using diagnostic tools and software.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and use power and hand tools.
Proven experience in customer service.
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience as an electrician or electrical service technician, or in a similar role.
Valid US Passport and driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills:
Technical certification such as NEC, OSHA 30, Electrical License or relevant degree.
Cross-industry experience with HVAC systems and their associated components (control systems, fans, dampers, etc.).
Experience with Audio/Visual systems and their associated equipment (control systems, speakers, drivers, amplifiers, DMX, etc.).
