POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include maintaining and installing electrical circuits, devices and controllers of new and existing facility areas. Maintain all emergency generators, related electrical distribution, Life Safety and Utility systems through routine preventive maintenance and repairs. Assist in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. Primary duties: Upkeep and routine maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, Life Safety devices and emergency generator systems. Knowledge of specialty building codes, fire regulations and regulatory agencies including AHCA, Joint Commission, EPA, OSHA, NEC, NFPA
Must be able to calculate length and shape of conduit systems with minimal waste; calculate circuit loads, size of protection devices and voltage drops in feeders and branch circuits using standard formulas. Ability to install conduit, make up conductors so no faults result, make connections to over-current protection devices so that no heat build-up occurs, calculate circuit loads, size of protection devices, diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in electrical circuitry and devices. Motor control and device replacement, emergency life safety systems include nurse call, fire panel and related devices, emergency generators and ATS's and all components related to the electrical distribution system.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
- High School diploma or graduate equivalent degree (GED)
- Minimum requirement and proof of current journeyman license in State of Florida
- 3-5 years previous experience in building/hospital maintenance service as an electrician
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
