Electrician - Ziegler Caterpillar

Ziegler CAT has an opening for an electrician who installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. The Electrician will also ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant codes.

Responsibilities:

• Experience with voice/data infrastructure installation
• Experience as field tech a plus
• Working knowledge with card access, IP and analog cameras
• Experience with system cutovers
• Installs, repairs, and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
• Installs new electrical service / Install electrical panels, switchgear
• Directs and trains workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
• Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations
• Uses a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps
• Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
• Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
• Assists or leads electrical projects of larger scope such as new construction installs
• Performs preventive maintenance on transformers and switchgear as well as preventive building maintenance including but not limited to building HVAC systems, plumbing repairs, exterior building repairs and cement replacements
• Pulls necessary electrical permits
• Assists or leads electrical projects of larger scope such as new construction installs

Qualifications:

• High school degree required, Associate’s degree preferred
• Electricians license required
• 3-5 years electrical experience strongly preferred
• Safety knowledge of electrical jobs required
• Knowledge of a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment; measuring devices; power tools; and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps
• Available for on-call emergencies
• Clean driving record required, Class A or B license a plus
• Highly motivated and hard worker
• Team-player attitude and willing to help on whatever task is needed
• This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement
