About the Job
Performs electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings on patients and analyzes the results; archives data; screens patients; monitors EEG system; prints films; maintains equipment; performs pre-authorizations for outpatient EEGs and inpatient for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at El Paso Children’s Hospital. EEG Coordinator will assist with calling, scheduling and providing instructions to all patients prior to scheduled appointment. They will be responsible for keeping a spreadsheet of completed/incomplete EEG’s. Keep equipment neat and orderly and maintain inventory of supplies.
Required Skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
- Basic knowledgeable of or ability to learn various electroencephalographic procedures and processes.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish Preferred.
Required Experience
Work Experience:
- Six months of related experience with healthcare equipment in a hospital/healthcare setting.
License/Registration/Certification:
- Current Basic Life Support
Education and Training:
- Completion of a healthcare program in a clinical area (i.e. Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, etc.)
