Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) - Maine Health

Experienced, qualified applicants are eligible for a $1,500 Sign-on Bonus.This bonus will be prorated for Part Time or Per Diem positions.Please note this bonus is not available to current MaineHealth employees or prior employees that have been separated for less than 6 months.

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a full-time EMT-B position. Bonus amount prorated for part-time hires. Per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth member employees are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Position Summary

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) for NorthStar Ambulance,at our Maine Medical Center location, provides basic life support during emergency pre-hospital and inter-facility transfer care to patients when indicated by the patient’s injury or illness in accordance with state and local protocols.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. 1. Education:High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
   2. License/Certifications:Maine EMT-Basic license. Valid driver’s license. AVOC/EVOC required within six months of employment. CPR (AHA). IS100/700.
   3. Experience:N/A
   4. Must be 18 years of age
   5. Annual Skills Assessment, specific to department policies
   6. Annual Fit Testing
