Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ As an Employee Relations Business Partner in the Advice & Counsel Center, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and collaborative work environment by providing expert guidance on employee relations matters. + You will be responsible for handling employee concerns, addressing workplace conflicts, and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. + You will work closely with various departments and assigned internal client groups to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and support Emory's mission and goals.
Employee Relations Management:
+ Act as a primary point of contact for employees seeking guidance on workplace issues, disputes, or conflicts. + Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters in accordance with Emory policies and applicable laws. + Provide advice and support to management in handling complex employee relations issues.
Policy Development and Implementation:
+ As appropriate, collaborate with HR leadership and legal teams to develop and update company policies and procedures related to employee relations + Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization and conduct training sessions to educate employees and managers.
Conflict Resolution:
+ Mediate conflicts between employees, managers, and teams to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. + Recommend and implement conflict resolution strategies to prevent recurring issues.
Performance Management:
+ Assist in the performance management process, including coaching managers on effective performance conversations, conducting investigations related to performance issues, and recommending appropriate actions.
Employee Engagement:
+ Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention + Conduct surveys, analyze results, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Legal Compliance:
+ Stay current with employment laws and regulations, ensuring Emory policies and practices are in compliance + Collaborate with stakeholders to assess, develop, and implement effective compliance and risk management strategies + Work closely with legal counsel to address legal issues related to employee relations.
Client Relationship Management:
+ Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients and act as a trusted advisor on HR and compliance matters + Provide clear and effective communication to convey complex legal issues in a comprehensible manner
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field + Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus + Minimum of three (3) years of experience in providing employee relations advice, preferably in a healthcare, corporate or consulting environment + Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards + Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills + Outstanding written and verbal communication skills + Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities effectively + Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
