Employment and Education Specialist (Fort Wayne and South Bend, IN) - Maximus

Maximus is hiring an Employment and Education Specialist (Counselor of Case Management) to be responsible for developing collaborative relationships with training providers, employers, and community resource organizations. This role involves recruiting fathers in the community through outreach and relationship-building efforts. The specialist provides employment navigation services to enrolled low-income fathers, conducts career and aptitude assessments, and assists them in understanding and applying the results to their current work and education/training needs. Additionally, the specialist connects these fathers to training providers, employment resources, and available jobs that align with their career goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Cultivate and nurture professional relationships with customers, continuously monitoring their engagement and progress within the program.

- Regularly collaborate with customers to set and accomplish program goals, ensuring ongoing eligibility and program service maintenance.

- Demonstrate extensive program knowledge, guiding customers through various stages of the application process, from enrollment to benefit and service allocation.

- Assist customers in accessing essential services aligned with program objectives, including educational or vocational training, medical care, childcare, transportation, mental health resources, legal assistance, and other pertinent needs.

- Conduct follow-ups with customers to address needs, resolve concerns, and ensure their requirements are met satisfactorily.

- Collaborate with team members to provide expertise and support in resolving participant issues effectively.

- Maintain accurate and timely case documentation for all customer interactions, ensuring comprehensive records of activities.

- Share updates regarding outreach and engagement initiatives with project staff, facilitating effective communication.

- Identify and communicate barriers hindering customer engagement with the Provider, informing project staff promptly.

- Perform additional duties as directed by leadership to support program objectives.

- Travel to and provide regular training for existing providers in one-on-one or larger settings.
- Travel to and participate in events to recruit new providers to the program.
- Responsible for escalated providers and resolving issues.
- Responsible for high visibility providers where a quick resolution is needed.
- May be assigned specific providers for ongoing assistance.
- Collaborate with other contractors and the client on communication and implementation of policy changes to the operations.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the project.
- Extensive travel is required.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by management

Minimum Requirements

- High school diploma or GED required and 0-2 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel

- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills and abilities

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including a track record of interacting with all levels of staff, management and/or government

- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously

- Ability to work collaboratively, as well as independently
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment

Home Office Requirements (Hybrid Remote)

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
