About the role
The Waterpark Engineering Supervisor is an entry level management position providing leadership and support to the Waterpark team. The main areas of responsibility include the Waterpark and Pumprooms. This individual must carry relevant certifications and have experience operating pools and operating and maintaining the pool equipment. The Waterpark Engineering Supervisor will play a vital role in the successful implementation and execution of Daily Routine Inspections, Chemical Checks, and PM program. Daily responsibilities include delegating work assignments, following up on completed work, and training employees. This individual must work collaboratively with all departments in the hotel to ensure a positive customer experience for resort guests.
What you will be doing:
- Communicate with Assistant Director of Engineering and Director of Engineering regarding all aspects of waterpark engineering operations.
- Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to meet and exceed standards.
- Establish and implement preventative maintenance schedule.
- Inspect and document all pools, equipment, hazards, systems, and general waterpark operation.
- Maintain work areas clean and organized.
- Monitor and control, parts and labor expenditures.
- Prioritize all work requests ensuring handling of guest problems, staff problems and inner waterpark challenges.
- Promote employee empowerment.
- Report and resolve all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Select, train, supervise, develop, discipline, and counsel employees according to Davidson policies and procedures.
- Administer outside engineering vendor contracts.
- Complete other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain ongoing capital improvement file.
- Order all parts, materials and supplies for the department.
- Perform in the capacity of any position supervised.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
- Conduct performance appraisals.
- Inspect and adjust all systems daily, respond to life system alarms.
- Maintain and repair the pools, features, the waterpark deck, conveyor, wave generation, pool filtration and pool equipment.
What you bring to the role:
- High School diploma; college and/or Swimming Pool certifications are preferred
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in large, full-service hotel or resort.
- Read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
- Strong technical skills in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, etc. Familiar with pool equipment, pumps, motors, chemical feeders, conveyor equipment.
- CPO license preferred
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop the Waterpark Engineering team.
