Location: San Jose, CA
Hourly rate: $30.00 - $36.00

Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of Nanopore Platform Development group. The Wafer Technician will be required to directly support and primary routine lab equipment and process & testing support, utilizing their experience in MEMS and semiconductor fabs to ensure a robust product line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform engineering experiments by following instructions.
Process and test wafers and parts using defined procedures.
Perform visual inspections.
Operate testing instrument and inspection equipment (optical microscope, SEM, etc.) and interpret results.
Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting.
Recover from process and tool interruptions.
Use standard software applications and specific programs creating reports and documenting procedures.
Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost.
Complete all required reporting and documentation.
Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements.
Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and on the Emergency Response Team.
Train new team members.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS:
High School Degree (or equivalent) with 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with wafer manufacturing and assembly of complex electro-mechanical devices, preferably of a microfluidic, biological lab-on-a-chip purpose a plus.
Strong team player with ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional detail-oriented execution of job function required.
Ability to work independently and with others as a team.
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements.
Must be U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
