PSI, an Intertek company, is actively seeking an Engineering Technician II to join our Building & Construction team in Santa Fe Spring, CA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!
The Engineering Technician II is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision in accordance with the building code and project specifications.

How you'll make an impact at Intertek-PSI:
- Follow specific methods to observe site activities and perform inspection and testing
- Operate testing equipment and conduct testing, (example: soil, concrete, etc.) and provide an assessment of data through reporting
- Read and Interpret plans and specifications
- Maintain and calibrate standard testing equipment
- Make detailed observations and give the interpretation of results
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
- Communicate effectively with client and project teams
- Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- 2+ years related experience is required, soil testing experience preferred
- ACI Certification is required
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required
- Good report writing skills
- Must have basic math, calculator, and computer skills
- Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed
- Ability to commute to remote locations
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
- Ability to climb occasionally
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces

The base wage or salary range for this position is $20 to $25/HR. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
