Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available in the Hillsboro/Aloha area to support photolithography equipment customers and enable them to utilize cutting-edge technology in their semiconductor manufacturing processes. As an Engineering Technician II, you will receive training to support advanced lithography equipment, including steppers and scanners. This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment while minimizing equipment downtime; escalate advanced repairs to senior-level technicians as necessary.
- Monitor, inspect, and maintain semiconductor equipment to prevent and minimize malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and provide periodic reports.
- Perform monthly and quarterly preventive maintenance on equipment in customer facilities.
- Provide training and assistance to technicians and may offer basic instruction to customers.
- Participate in ongoing technical training to expand your technical expertise.
Qualifications:
- This is a customer-facing role that requires compliance with customer policies and protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination and related measures.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of related electromechanical work experience (e.g., field service engineer or technician position in a semiconductor equipment company or technical position in the engineering field); lithography experience preferred, experience with high-precision equipment helpful.
- May require up to 30% travel by car, air, and overnight; a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are necessary.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed.
- The position requires reporting to customer sites Monday through Friday.
- Participation in a paid on-call rotation may be required after achieving a level of proficiency working on the equipment without assistance.
- Driving for company business is an essential function of this job, and compliance with safety guidelines and policies is mandatory.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently; assistance may be available for lifting over 30 pounds.
- Must be capable of standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, and hearing for substantial periods.
- Frequent driving, sometimes for multiple hours at a time, is required.
- Occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders may be necessary.
- Close visual acuity is required for extensive reading, visual inspections, operation of machines, and use of measurement devices.
- Work primarily in a cleanroom environment, wearing a full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses.
- The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and lasers, as well as working in confined spaces and high places.
- The role may involve working in highly time-sensitive situations requiring quick resolution of equipment issues.
