Starting Salary: $58K+
Exempt + Potential 5% Annual Bonus

Summary: This position is responsible for providing technical support for the engineering team. These duties include assisting with fabricating quick-turn prototypes, setting up and running development and production jobs, troubleshooting, providing design input for new and existing products, assisting with IQ/OQ/PQ validation runs, and providing the VSM with proper technical documentation such as machine settings, press diagrams, videos, and process notes for successful project closing meetings. This associate must become proficient with safely operating numerous pieces of equipment including rotary converting presses, rotary printing presses, packaging machines, laser cutters, die cutters, sheeters, sonic welders, brake presses, printing equipment, labelers, tensile testers, power tools, inspection equipment, and robots.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist engineers with identifying safety improvement opportunities as well as assisting with writing and training associates on Job Hazard Analysis documents.
- Assist engineers with hands-on fabrication of quick-turn prototypes that meet the needs of customers.
- Responsible for reviewing and documenting the setup and performing the hands-on "pre-flight" for development runs and first production run.
- Provide engineering technical assistance to ensure that when new jobs are transferred to production, all necessary equipment, tooling, and processes have been properly developed, validated, and documented and production personnel have been trained to ensure consistent production of high quality product at or below the quoted cost.
- Manage the engineering prototype room to ensure that it is clean and organized, the equipment maintenance is up to date, and all materials/supplies are properly labeled and controlled.
- Comply with GMP, ISO13485 and FDA requirements.
- Understand and assist production associates with accurate print reading and interpretation.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Training/Education/Experience:
- High School education or equivalent and 2 years of trade school in technical field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years of hands-on rotary press experience
- Experience with operating manufacturing equipment similar in complexity to packaging machines, laser cutters, die cutters, sheeters, sonic welders, brake presses, printing equipment, labelers, tensile testers, power tools, inspection equipment, and robots.
- Experience with or ability to learn IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities, preferably for medical products
- Experience with or ability to learn regulatory requirements like ISO, GMP, FDA, CAPA and others
- Experience with or ability to learn Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing methodology
- Experience with problem solving complex rotary press issues
- Proficient PC skills, Microsoft
