Overview
Under general supervision, provides leadership and expertise in the development of the technology roadmap to support the District's strategic objectives. The Enterprise Architect -Infrastructure will work to improve the resiliency of IT Infrastructure through the evaluation of new and emerging technologies to find secure, cost effective, and more reliable solutions for existing and proposed systems
Essential Functions:
- Perform program manager function for all infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with IT management and technical teams to define and communicate architecture strategies, policies, standards, and direction.
- Develop technology roadmaps and future state strategies for Mobile and Cloud computing.
- Research and assess technology solutions that best support the Districts strategic objectives.
- Lead Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity programs.
- Partners with infrastructure, application, and quality teams to ensure that applications meet business requirements, are well documented, and have processes in place for ongoing support and maintenance.
- Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services requested as standards in order to ensure an integrated and secure architecture across interdependent technologies.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop Capacity Management metrics and propose technology and projects to proactively address future forecasted demand.
- Participate in Enterprise System RFP request to insure compliance with security and infrastructure standards.
- Participate as a core member of the Change Control Board.

Qualifications
Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business. Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- 10+ years of IT experience, and at least 5 years of experience leading large-scale technology infrastructure projects.
- 2-3 years of experience in developing architecture road maps and leading in the design and delivery of technology solutions.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple technology solutions by influencing future technology decisions and directions required.
- Experience and knowledge of distributed and industrial control systems (DCS, ICS) in a storm/waster water utility.
- Experience and knowledge of data center design, management and power utilization.
- Experience and knowledge of Cybersecurity and Data protection processes.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Must possess valid driver's license issued by the state in which employee resides.
Pursuant to MSD's "Substance Abuse Policy and Procedures," this position has been designated as non-safety sensitive and candidate must pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test for this position. Employees occupying this position are not subject to Federal (D.O.T.) Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations.
