Job Summary

Essential Duties:
- Research and prepare written technical recommendations on network hardware and software products.
- Develop system design and performance specifications, test requirements, and security implementation of network and communication hardware and software.
- Perform project oversight and follow of supplier design, supplier testing, and supplier procedure development.
- Review, verify, and approve supplier design submittals including procedures for installation, operations, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software products.
- Provide written technical support to end users to troubleshoot and resolve network or software functional issues.
- Conduct independent verification of operation and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support implementation and documentation of cybersecurity compliance with government requirements.
- Communicate extensively internally as well as with external customer and supplier personnel.
- Perform project oversight of the installation of network hardware and software products at end destinations.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred for newer college graduates.
- Experience with any of the following is preferred:
- Network administration
- Virtualization (VMWare)
- Network communication architecture
- Cybersecurity
- Configuration and use of network firewalls
- Backup and recovery software methodologies
- Support of IT networks
- Knowledge of network hardware
- Demonstrated ability of effective written and oral communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilities is strongly desired.
