Equipment Qualification Engineer – Seismic
System One is actively seeking a qualified Equipment Qualification Engineer with seismic and commercial nuclear experience for a remote, contract position lasting 12 months, subject to extension or conversion.
Role Overview:
- Report to the Equipment Qualification Program Manager.
- Provide daily support for projects and contribute to the development of Equipment Qualification Programs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure regulatory compliance in design and licensing strategies.
- Engage with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for pre-application discussions, report preparation, and information requests.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement equipment qualification programs.
- Ensure new designs comply with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain licensing documentation per quality assurance standards.
- Coordinate with TerraPower, partners, and contractors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment qualification.
- Proficiency in ASME Standards (QME-1, OM Code), IEEE-344, and other relevant standards.
- Proven experience in seismic design within the nuclear industry.
- Familiarity with NEI 18-04, Regulatory Guide 1.233, and environmental qualification guides.
- Experience with vendor test facilities and current industry trends.
- Strong adherence to quality assurance protocols.
- Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Professional.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
