About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Estimator with experience in Transit/BRT industries to join our team in supporting large-scale construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for developing project estimates, while managing cost escalation and labor rates. This position offers the opportunity to serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication about project progress and addressing any issues that arise. By providing regular updates to stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships, you will play a vital role in the successful execution of our projects.
This is a long term, full-time, onsite position located in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Develop project and construction estimates, schedules, and costs.
- Responsible for cost escalation, orders of magnitude, cost of materials, and labor rates.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication of project progress, issues, and solutions.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including senior management and clients, highlighting project status, accomplishments, and potential roadblocks.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- 5+ years' relevant construction estimating/cost control experience.
- Significant experience developing project and construction estimates, schedules, and costs.
- Experience with cost escalation, orders of magnitude, cost of materials, and labor rates.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques related to heavy civil rail projects.
- Experience working with government agencies and their processes.
- Proficiency with industry standard estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Primavera, RSMeans, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Work, Excel, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- 8+ years' relevant construction estimating/cost control experience.
- Previous experience in transit industry.
- Previous bus facility experience.
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $60k-150k annually. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate's level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
