We are seeking an experienced Permanent Estimator to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This position is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in budgeting, blueprint reading, scheduling, and cost management to create accurate and competitive estimates for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, a strong understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. With over 5 years of experience in the construction industry, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of our projects, ensuring their financial and timely success.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost components.
- Utilize your expertise in blueprint reading to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Develop project budgets and work with the project management team to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Schedule and forecast project timelines and milestones, using your excellent time management skills.
- Provide ongoing cost management and tracking throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
- Prepare and present estimate reports and findings to senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
- Continually review and understand market trends affecting construction cost.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on estimate progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
- Proficient in budgeting, blueprint reading, scheduling, and cost management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local construction market and the ability to maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar would be considered an asset.
