About the Job
Wilkes University invites applicants for an ESMS (Event Support and Moving Services)Technician in the Facilities Department. The position performs set-ups associated with University events (e.g. commencement, orientations, homecoming, various other campus events and performances), logistical moves and campus deliveries (e.g. furniture, equipment, supplies). The ESMS Technician provides maintenance support with general cleaning duties (e.g. cleaning up spills, trash removal), performs daily general maintenance (reset breakers, painting, etc.) and work associated with seasonal grounds maintenance and care (e.g. snow removal, litter removal, etc.).
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of six (6) months work experience in a customer service and labor-oriented work environment. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License is required. Knowledge of best practices in general maintenance and grounds maintenance and care preferred.
Proficient technical and manual skills to perform associated general maintenance manual tasks. Basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and web based applications) required. Applicant must have the ability to occasionally lift at least 100 pounds, to read and comprehend schematic drawings, safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position. Good customer service skills and the ability to function well in a team environment.
Schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm (some overtime required). Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
