Summary:
Technician will be onsite supporting events at Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater, L.A. LIVE and Dignity Health Sports Park. The technician will be responsible for set-up, tear down, and trouble shooting of all IT and Telecom needs. Candidate must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays .
Examples of Duties/Essential Functions:
- Follow detailed instructions as it pertains to the set-up of equipment and work independently while meeting all set-up timelines/deadlines. Must verify all set-ups are accurate according to request.
- Handle physical tasks indoors/outdoors involving placement and set-up of network equipment. Troubleshoot and test connectivity (wired & WiFi) as necessary.
- Responsible for event phone placement and recovery of equipment after the event.
- Verify dial tone, test numbers accordingly and match documentation to breakout boxes and jacks for placement according to set-up request.
- Make custom-length CAT5e network cables in the field using RJ45 connectors and crimping tools. Coordinate with network team to activate ethernet ports on required VLAN's through patch panels and respective network switches.
- Extend CAT5e Ethernet cable and secure with gaffers tape according to specific venue requirements/floor plan instructions as directed.
- Maintain record of activated wall jacks and network switch ports.
- Assist with adds, moves and changes on phones when needed.
- Pull cable when necessary.
Qualification Standards:
- A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency
- 2-4 years of customer service experience in a technical capacity
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical position in a facility with standard network and server environment: of TCP/IP protocol, DNS, DHCP, WINS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical position with primary responsibilities in user support in a Microsoft environment, which includes Windows 10 and MS Office Suite 2016/O365;
- Understanding of troubleshooting basic TCP/IP issues, packet captures and traces.
- Ability to follow a strict workflow process for QA and User Acceptance testing
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all clients/end users.
- Ability to compose detailed incident reports.
- Punctual in accordance with event schedule or directives.
- Knowledge of Network infrastructure, including patch panels, copper and fiber cabling, switch vlan configuration, routers, WiFi devices, ethernet extenders, cable testers, etc.
- Ability to successfully connect devices to network (wired & Wi-Fi).
- Experience supporting Cisco Stadium Vision IPTV devices is preferred (Digital Media Players, Tablets and IP Phones)
- Position requires candidate to frequently be mobile, kneel down, bend, crawl, go up steps/ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- A+/ Network + and\or CCNA certification is a plus
- Foundational knowledge of the ITIL framework, and IT Service Management is preferred
- Ability to work at Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater, L.A. LIVE and Dignity Health Sports Park
- Must be available evenings, weekends and holidays
Pay Scale: $23.84
