About Meals on Wheels Kitsap: Established in 1973, Meals on Wheels Kitsap has been the leading provider of nutrition services for seniors aged 60 and older in Kitsap County. We operate four community dining sites, two meals-to-go locations, and a comprehensive home delivery service for homebound seniors. Our program focuses on supporting frail, low-income elderly individuals who rely on our meals for their primary source of nutrition. Beyond providing food, our dedicated volunteers offer the companionship and human connection that are essential to improving our clients' overall well-being.
Position Overview: The Executive Director will be at the forefront of our efforts to ensure program excellence, financial sustainability, and community engagement. This position requires a strategic leader who can guide the organization towards its goals while driving innovation, spearheading fund development initiatives, and building strong community partnerships. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to define the strategic vision, develop policies, and set organizational priorities in alignment with the mission of Meals on Wheels Kitsap
- Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and in compliance with funding and regulatory guidelines
- Community Relations: Serve as the organization's chief ambassador, representing Meals on Wheels Kitsap to the community, stakeholders, and legislative bodies
- Fund Development: Lead grant writing, donor engagement, and sponsor cultivation to secure necessary funding and enhance financial stability
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage staff and volunteers, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and development
- Proven leadership experience within the social services, human services, or nonprofit sector
- Strong financial acumen, with a background in budget management, grant writing, and fundraising
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with community partners and stakeholders
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative programs to address community needs
- Ability to lead, inspire, and work effectively with a diverse team of staff, volunteers, and senior clientele

Salary & Benefits: This is a full time, salary-exempt position of $90,000-$110,000. Benefits include a health care stipend, flexible schedule (based on needs of the organization), four weeks of vacation, sick leave according to state law, and 11 paid holidays. The Board is looking to work with the new Executive Director to develop a more comprehensive benefits package for all employees in the coming year.
