Are you a dynamic leader ready to make a profound impact on public safety? We are seeking a visionary Public Safety Executive Director to spearhead our mission of safeguarding our community. This pivotal role requires strategic acumen, exceptional leadership, and a passion for ensuring the well-being of all citizens.
About Us: At East Central Dispatch Center - ECDC, we are dedicated to excellence in public safety. With a legacy of over twenty years serving our community, we prioritize innovation, collaboration, and proactive measures to enhance security and resilience by providing 9-1-1 (Police, Fire and EMS) call response to Brentwood, Clayton, Maplewood, Olivette, Richmond Heights, Rock Hill and Webster Groves.
Position Overview: As the Public Safety Executive Director, you will lead a dedicated team of professionals in developing and implementing comprehensive safety initiatives. Your strategic vision will shape policies, enhance emergency response protocols, and foster partnerships with local agencies and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership Excellence: Provide visionary leadership to the public safety team, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement effective policies and procedures to enhance public safety and emergency preparedness.
- Community Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and government agencies to promote a unified approach to safety initiatives.
- Resource Management: Oversee budgeting and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations and optimal service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (minimum of five years) in public safety management, public safety administration or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of emergency management principles, crisis response, and risk assessment preferably in a multi-position, multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and inspire teams.
- Advanced degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field strongly preferred.
