Minimum qualifications:
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel; the ability to work independently and on a team and handle multiple shifting priorities; ability to enter and extract data from electronic databases; good organizational skills and the ability to correspond with healthcare professionals. Highschool diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2-years experience working in a professional setting. Prior experience working for the New York State Department of Health.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Familiarity and knowledge of varied healthcare entities, including healthcare institutions; familiarity and knowledge of the Health Commerce System and the Statewide Financial System.
Responsibilities:
OALTC is seeking administrative assistants to support the many daily operational functions of the office including maintaining various tracking and database systems; preparing a variety of correspondence, reports and other written material; answering phones concerning policy or procedure and directing them to appropriate staff; setting up and coordinating meetings for senior staff; receiving and processing mail and fax documents; faxing and photocopying; data entry and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and highly motivated individuals able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume office environment. The successful candidate should be willing and able to multitask and move from assignment to assignment as deadlines and priorities change. Have knowledge of office administration and management; proper grammar, punctuation and spelling; business communications and ability to take notes is necessary.
Salary Commensurate with scope of work job experience
Business Casual and footwear to perform tasks in a safe manner.
