About the Job
Oiles America Corporation, an innovator in self-lubricating bearing technologies, is seeking an Exhaust Press Operator for our North Carolina facility. The ideal candidate is responsible for producing quality exhaust seals at the prescribed rates. Also responsible for assignments as directed by supervision or management. Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- This job requires a basic command of the English language
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Must have basic understanding of the metric system of measurements
- Must have basic understanding of the use of measuring instruments, including calipers, electronic weight scales, and rulers
- Must have the ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance
- Must have the ability to stand for at least 8 hours per day
- Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds with arms extended over the head
- Must have the ability to stoop (squat) to floor level and stand again multiple times per day
- Must have the ability to effectively hold & utilize small hand tools and fasteners
- Must be able to visually detect small defects in production materials
- Must be able to hear buzzers, horns, and/or warning signals emitted by production equipment
Essential Functions
Production
- Produce exhaust seal parts at the determined production rate and at a level of quality determined by 3rd party certification requirements (TS-16949).
- Replenish EGR in EGR cutter as needed.
- Replenish wire or roll coat in knitting machines as needed.
- Communicate with Production Team Leader regarding potential problems that relate to safety, quality, or productivity.
Administrative
- Accurately report produced quantity, scrap, and downtime on production sheet.
- Verify accuracy of packaging and labeling as required by Oiles packaging standards.
- Make recommendations for potential improvements to supervision.
- Verify accuracy of lot control information.
Quality
- Conduct 100% visual inspection of all parts produced.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the exhaust seal department per Oiles 5S requirements.
- Use applicable measuring devices for the purpose of evaluating the quality of production materials.
- Authority to stop production, if necessary, to correct a quality problem related to the production process.
