Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, performs facility maintenance and repair duties within a specialty area as required.

Responsibilities:- Responsible for completing daily work order assignments.
- Works with all types of construction equipment including table saws, drill press and all small hand tools.
- Performs facility maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, installing acoustical ceilings, metal stud walls, sheetrock and millwork installation, painting, lighting, facility repairs, furniture installation, window repair, minor plumbing, door frame and hardware installations, minor flooring repairs, etc.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment such as HVAC, boilers, etc.
- Surveys facilities to find maintenance needs and set priorities.
- Assists in the care and maintenance of personally assigned tools and equipment as well as general department equipment.
- Responds to emergency requests for maintenance after normal working hours.
- Inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building codes.
- Responsible for documentation and record keeping of all work performed.
- Local travel required.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals graduating from a trade or vocational school.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year experience in building/plant maintenance operations, construction, or with a mechanical or electrical contractor or a graduate with certification from a trade school in a maintenance related field.
Licensure Requirements:
Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
