Jamison Professional Services, Inc. (“Jamison”) is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of FOIA Analyst.
Job Title: FOIA Analyst
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The FOIA Analyst shall have experience in FOIA protocols and the Federal Policy as it relates to processing timely FOIA requests, including conducting quality control checks of FOIA work products.
REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Three (3) years of experience in FOIA protocols and the Federal Policy as it relates to processing timely FOIA requests, including conducting quality control checks of FOIA work products.
Knowledge of legal interpretations of the FOIA as it affects exemptions and release of documents.
Knowledge of reporting requirements under FOIA
Proficiency working with FOIA Exemptions
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Proficient use of FOIAXpress, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel
Ability to learn new software and FOIA/PA related technologies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain database which will contain all FOIA requests, Privacy Act requests and FOIA appeals. Create a new database entry for each new request, appeal and update each entry as needed throughout the life of the request/appeal, and date stamp new requests received by mail/email/web.
Review FOIA requests against defined set of business rules using web-based review platform.
Working with POCs and/or document holders to gather potentially responsive documents.
Reviewing documents to determine whether responsive and complete.
Determine whether FOIA exemptions apply to records and redact any non-releasable portions.
Redacting documents using Adobe or reviewing appropriateness of redactions others make.
Quality check/review all products before submitting to government for legal review and signature.
Drafting FOIA response letters.
Provide weekly reports on the status of responses to FOIA requests.
Perform all other duties as assigned under the FOIA/PA (Privacy Act) guidelines.
HOURS OF OPERATION: First shift: M-F
PRIMARY PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Hybrid - Washington, DC
Clearance Level Required: The Contractor shall be able to pass a federal background check.
