- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working with electrical systems such as power distribution, PLC's, HMI's, and database systems
- Experience with Project Management in a team-based environment.
- Must be able to provide documentation in the original form establishing both your identity and your employment eligibility in the U.S.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items you must be able to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
- Capable of programming Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems.
- Experience programming Wonderware, SQL, touchscreen HMI/SCADA systems.
- Understanding of NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent electrical safety codes.
- Ability to use ACAD/Inventor.
The Facilities Electrical Project Engineer will report directly to the Facility Engineering Team Leader. This position provides technical engineering services and project management to support production, maintenance, and administrative department's achievement of the location's business plan.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects.
- Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance and project closure.
- Assist production and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective with key emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems with specialized technical expertise in the application and use of automation technology for plant facilities and processes.
- Provide a higher-level support for all PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for all PLC/Scada/Database Systems.
- Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and all changes to these systems.
- Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes.
- Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes including responsibility and oversight of EHS policies.
- Oversee contractor work and compliance to Howmet Aerospace, Federal/State, Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
