POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining and repairing all mechanical equipment, buildings and grounds of the casino. Work with Director of Facilities on major projects, such as building, plumbing, and maintaining the heating and air-conditioning systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments' Internal Controls.
- Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino Employee Handbook.
- Must adhere to our customer service standards by providing excellent guest service.
- Must interact with Guests and other Team Members in an upbeat and friendly manner.
- The Facilities Engineer must be proactive and identify problems, & solutions. Follow through with your department Director or Supervisor.
- Maintains casino grounds and undertakes projects that are within his experience in construction.
- Maintains and repairs refrigerator equipment.
- Maintains and repairs boilers.
- Maintains and repairs electrical equipment.
- Maintains and repairs plumbing equipment. This will require plunging toilets, cleaning out floor and sink drains as needed and as requested.
- Maintains and repairs HVAC.
- May work with locks and keys throughout the property.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area in the Shop.
- Prepares daily work forms.
- Routinely inspects all lighting throughout the casino, accounting building, and other out-laying buildings on casino's property, identifying potential problems, and resolving them in a proficient timely manner.
- Responds to all maintenance request timely and professionally.
- Maintains the mechanics of the, water system, generator, air conditioning and heating, and other mechanics of the facilities as assigned.
- Assist with property maintenance when weather conditions are adverse (run snow blower, shovel snow and apply deicer. Clean roof drains and roof).
- Pick up trash around the property as needed.
- Maintain the landscaping by pulling weeds, cutting weeds down in areas that is needed.
- Work on the sprinkler systems so the grass stays green in all areas. When brown spots come up in the lawn research why.
- Maintain the drip system in the flower beds to make sure the plants are getting water. Trouble shoot as needed when plants look dry.
- Work with marketing on setting up promotions along with take down if needed. Retrieve items from storage and put them back as needed.
- Must learn the RedRock ordering system for ordering materials.
- Must learn and understand the HIPPO CMMS PM System. By closing out work orders daily, adding hours, adding notes to work orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proper precautions are required to be taken by Facilities Engineers.
- Subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
- Required to work in elevated places inside and outside of the building such as lampposts and parking structures and enclosed areas such as boilers, HVAC duct areas and attic spaces.
- At times, subjected to hazards such as the dangers associated with the use of basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
- Occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions.
- Proper clothing is provided.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all times, with guests as well as all levels of team members.
- Ability to observe and direct actions of those that may be assisting the Facilities Department and inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
- Able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
- Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work areas including lampposts, parking structures, boilers, HVAC duct areas, and attic space.
- Will be required to do occasional administrative tasks including reading and responding to emails and requests via Hippo.
- Will be required to be on feet for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform the following physical movements, sometime frequently: walking, lifting, crawling, climbing, packing, bending, stooping and kneeling.
- Will be expected to use power tools and other hand tools such as a saw, hammer, pliers, etc.
- Must be willing and able to life and carry 100 pounds.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must have some knowledge of plumbing, electrical and air conditioning maintenance. Occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training and/or on the job training. Knowledge of refrigeration, boilers, and HVAC.
- These skills and abilities necessary are typically acquired through a minimum of five years' experience as an Engineer or through an A.A. degree in Engineering or related field.
- Operating knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- Must know practical application skills.
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Must be able to walk long distances.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Excellent Customer Service skills with all team members and other departments.
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
- Must have a current driver's license.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
- Obtain and maintain a License C with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Casinos.
- Must be willing and able to read and comprehend all applicable manuals such as safety plans, emergency evacuation plans, STC Handbook, Internal Controls and operating procedures.
- Must be able to uphold highest level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department.
- Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
- Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
