About the Job
This position is a 12-week paid internship located in Bloomington, Indiana. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, and intern events. If working onsite, you will also have access to a fitness center, an onsite cafeteria option, and a one-time housing stipend. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.
Responsibilities:• Support the Facilities Engineering team in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of building infrastructure and systems.
• Gain hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as opportunities to participate in various projects aimed at optimizing facility operational efficiency, management, safety, and compliance.
• Ensure new or modified asset information is properly transferred into Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
• Define and create technical specifications for a wide variety of projects.
• Working closely with Building Management System (BMS) team to create graphical interfaces, identify and resolve mechanical issues, design limitations, control device malfunctions, or software problems.
• Read and comprehend blueprints, specifications and sketches and develop/modify CAD drawing for facility or systems.
• Work closely with Lead Engineer in planning, documenting, commissioning, and start-up of new and modified facilities and system installs/upgrades.
• Collaborate on multiple complex projects with a high level of detail and accuracy.
• Work with complex/critical equipment and systems to identify potential areas of improvement.
Qualifications:• All candidates should have an interest in a career in the Life Sciences field, a willingness to take initiative, and an ability to work well with others.
• Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school; candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
• All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration.
• Multiple disciplines will be considered (e.g., Engineering, Marketing, Life Sciences, General Business, and Management).
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit and Auto CAD are preferred.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% as necessary to other facilities.
• Occasionally lifts and/or move more than 50 pounds.
