Facilities Engineering Specialist (Technical Development)
PURPOSE:
Responsible for planning and coordinating the development, delivery, and administration of engineering and facility maintenance technical development programs. This role is designed for an individual with prior experience in maintenance and facilities who can effectively train specialists at all levels. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for developing training guides and build resource rooms. Candidates who possess both technical expertise and experience as a STEM instructor or trainer, are ideal.

PURPOSE:

This role is designed for an individual with prior experience in maintenance and facilities who can effectively train specialists at all levels. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for developing training guides and build resource rooms. Candidates who possess both technical expertise and experience as a STEM instructor or trainer, are ideal.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders, including representatives of external training organizations, to
- execute training needs analysis.
- Utilize needs analysis results to create gap closure plans that support business strategies.
- Design and develop engineering training material to include learning objectives, presentations, exercises,
- assessments, evaluations, and documentation.

- Assist the facility department with managing key maintenance indicators such as
- budget, downtime, manpower, preventive maintenance, spare parts, and computerized
- system.
- Create specifications and drawings for new equipment or parts using various CAD
- software.
- Execute the facility department’s action plan to achieve the yearly operation plan
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or related field
- along with progressive experience in the maintenance or facilities field in a
- manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent
- combination of education and experience.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Demonstrated ability of building relationships, credibility and partnering with business leaders
- and peers.
- Strong project and time management skills: Set and maintain priorities and meet deadlines.
- Lead multiple programs simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company
- decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations
- and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Experience with automation, design, installation, and repair of equipment.
- Capacity to understand schematics and specifications of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge and experience with PLC programming (preferably A/B or Siemens).
- Experience with low and high voltage systems
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, HVAC and electrical systems
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
