Forefront Healthcare is looking for a highly organized, collaborative, and hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Manager to maintain this account.
The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of all utilities, services, critical systems/equipment, and grounds by coordinating all reactive issues and preventative maintenance planning to minimize total lifetime costs.
To be successful in this role, you should be accustomed to devising and managing systems and processes that will result in swift, innovative solutions that maintain and facilitate operations. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager will be required to work closely with the Regional Facilities Director and onsite team members.
Overview. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager administers and directs the entirety of the Facility Management program, managing building maintenance, grounds, real property installed equipment, utilities, and distribution systems. This position ultimately is responsible for other assignments within the Facility Management program, such as engineering logistics, project work, service orders, safety, and quality control.
Responsibilities and Knowledge. Specific responsibilities and knowledge may include, but are not limited to:
• Monitor and report on maintenance performance indicators as assigned within the contract/performance work statement
• Understand and deliver requirements related to The Joint Commission, DNV-GL, ACHC, CMS, and/or other authorities having jurisdiction (specific to the site/location)
• Perform safety audits and other physical environment audits (as required)
• Monitor adherence to the Safety Program
• Partner with site-level Environment of Care/Safety Committees
• Seek and make recommendations related to opportunities for improvement
• Keep organized records per the requirements of the contract/performance work statement
• Plan, organize, and control functions and activities of plant operations along with managing applicable project work and service orders
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including utilities energy savings program
• Monitor work performance and prepare/review performance evaluations for assigned Facility Management Associates and subcontractors
• Orients new employees and provides on-the-job training to assigned Facility Management Associates
• Resolves complaints and disciplines employees (as required)
• Main point of contact and subject matter expert for all applicable standards and elements of performance under the Environment of Care and Life Safety chapters of The Joint Commission (and/or other related accreditation surveying body)
• Review, evaluate, and recommend approval of bid arrangements, plans, and specifications pertaining to project work and service orders
• Assign and monitor education and training of assigned Facility Management Associates
• Responsible for grounds and landscaping services (as applicable per the site/location)
Requirements and Actions. Specific requirements and actions may include, but are not limited to:
• This individual will serve as a liaison with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other third-party service providers. They will plan, coordinate, and monitor, all aspects of the Facility Management Department and program along with the development and improvement of the physical environment.
• As much as possible, this position will meet with company Corporate Leadership along with clinical, administrative, supervisory staff, and other Client stakeholders. This individual may be required to communicate with community groups, agencies, and other third-party
organizations to coordinate and/or develop programs, services, policies and/or procedures
specific to Facility Management programs.
• This individual will be the acting subject matter expert for maintenance and engineering
programs. They will directly inform Facility Management Associates of salient features and
requirements; answering questions regarding systems and processes or refer them to
appropriate sources for additional information.
• This position directly monitors flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of
workload and adherence to contract/performance work statement standards and regulations. They will ensure adequate inventories; approving requisitions for equipment, parts, spares, supplies, and more (as authorized).
• This position will perform other services and duties, as delegated, and serves on a variety of facility committees as required by the Client.
Qualifications
Experience. Specific contracts/performance work statements may have more stringent
requirements, at a minimum, this position is required to fulfill the obligations of this position by possessing the following and/or maintaining the following competencies during employment:
• Individual must have or be able to obtain OSHA 30 (Construction Industry)
safety certification within the first 6-months of employment. We will provide this.
• While not required, a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), or equivalent, is supportive.
• While not required, a Bachelor’s degree is supportive, with a focus on Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science, or Business Management, but not required.
• At least 3-years’ experience (with a bachelor’s degree) / 5-years’ experience (without a
bachelor’s degree) – demonstrated experience within the healthcare physical environment
• Working experience with The Joint Commission, DNV-GL, ACHC, CMS, NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance agencies
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance and engineering systems
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations – working with
company-established reporting formats
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities while maintaining organization in an evolving
environment
• Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
• Ability to use working knowledge of the built environment to meet and exceed established objectives
• Must have skills with Microsoft Office products, project

Additional Information
Salary: $60,000-$70,000/year
