Facilities Manager
IN THIS ROLE:
You will oversee the day-to-day activities and staff of the Facility Operations Department for Administration, Shipping and Receiving, and our Summit Campus. Conducts regular inspections of assigned Oakland Schools' buildings and grounds to monitor quality and quantity of work performed, compliance with contract requirements, compliance with health and safety standards, and assures a clean, safe and secure environment is maintained.
WHAT WE NEED:
- Supervises the day-to-day activities of assigned staff. Duties include recommending hire, training, coaching, evaluating performance and discipline when necessary.
- Investigates and helps resolve facilities management related issues and concerns.
- Responds to building emergencies and when necessary, conducts building checks on weekends and during breaks.
- Coordinates execution and completion of facility work orders in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Operates, programs and troubleshoots various building management systems including temperature control, visitor management, employee card access, security cameras and other systems both onsite and remotely.
- Assists with the development and implementation of department budget(s); makes and authorizes purchases and assures expenditures are within the approved budget.
- Reviews and approves p-card purchases for assigned staff.
- Assists with various construction projects.
- Assists in the development, coordination and implementation of Oakland Schools' facility plans.
- Recommends contracted services for maintenance, repair and construction projects as appropriate. Assists with preparation of bid specifications, soliciting proposals, recommending award of contracts.
- Works cooperatively and maintains communication with other departments and external parties to coordinate activities, resolve problems and exchange information.
- Schedule pick-up and delivery routes for school districts, off-site buildings and other locations as assigned by supervisor.
- Oversees the receipt, storage and distribution of incoming supplies, equipment, furniture and other items.
- Oversees operation, maintenance and order of warehouse equipment.
- Must be available to provide these functions 24/7 in the event of an emergency or as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Associate's degree in Facility Management or six or more years of related experience including supervisory responsibilities
- MSBO Facilities Management Certification preferred
- Energy Management certification preferred
SALARY DETAILS:
$79,682 - $92,406 annually based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential of earning up to $99,511 after employment in this position with Oakland Schools. Exempt Position / 12-month work year
