Job Description
The Facilities Technician performs a variety of maintenance duties in support of laboratory and facility operations. Assists in other departments as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs standard preventative maintenance procedures
- Monitors the need for service or repair of laboratory HVAC, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment
- Troubleshoots and repairs various laboratory equipment
- Provides materials list to supervisor to maintain a stock of repair parts in-house
- Stocks all copy machines with paper on a weekly basis
- Completes weekly walk-thru of building for fluorescent bulb replacement
- Serves as emergency call backup if Facilities Manager is not onsite
- Assists in the collection of Non Hazardous and Hazardous lab waste from the facility for proper disposal
- Assist in the Shipping/Receiving of supplies including storage of supplies in a well-defined and organized manner
- Follows proper safety practices as required in the Corporate Safety Manual and assists in the inspections of facility safety equipment
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management team
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Basic maintenance experience in:
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Refrigeration
- Electrical
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical maintenance. Working
- knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration maintenance and repair.
- Communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Additional Information
Full-time position Monday - Friday day shift, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of University Park, IL are encouraged to apply.
Compensation range: $16-18/hr
Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
