Facilities Technician
6 Month Contract
7 AM to 4 PM
Summary
Complete minor repairs, hardware replacement, repainting, patching, sealing, random tile replacement, and clean-ups with a keen eye on aesthetics and customer perception. Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions;Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the Facility Manager within the physical constraints of the job. Large facility, fast paced.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspects and tests equipment for wear.
- Troubleshoot and repair all HVAC (heating ventilation air conditioning) system components
- Troubleshoots, dismantles, repairs / replaces machinery, mechanical devices, complex electrical systems and components.
- Cleans and lubricates machines.
- Services and maintains hydraulic, gas or pneumatic piping systems.
- Performs all work with strict adherence to federal and local regulations / standards
- Installs new equipment as required
- Repairs or installs all facility lighting
- Maintains a clean, orderly work environment.
- Perform repair or replacement of obsolete, worn, broken, failed, or inoperative systems or components, restorations and rehabilitations. Conduct and document scheduled audit of the R&D facility
- physical conditions using maintenance management system;Perform maintenance service including emergency
- service as required.
- Maintain stock levels, materials, subassemblies and tools.
- Maintain cost data on all individual work requests and orders.
- Direct and monitor vendor and service provider personnel as required.
- Interface with maintenance request log daily for work input.
- Perform building services at the R&D facilities as requested.
- Perform miscellaneous office space and other cleanup.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated area by hand, forklift,
- or other.
- Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements
Required
- 3-5 years knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, building safety, fire, OSHA, and ADA codes.
- have the ability to read an electrical diagram and trace a circuit •have ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems
- A team player, able to work closely with fellow employees.
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow oral instructions
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and diagrams including blueprints
- Basic understanding of mathematics
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
