Facilities Technician
The Facilities Technician is responsible for routine, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in one or more fields of security, cleaning, repair, HVAC, electrical, structural, paint, elevator, appliances, waste disposal, ground maintenance, parking, and plumbing, while ensuring that vendors perform service contracts according to the approved scope of work. This individual also identifies and assesses maintenance opportunities related to facility safety and assists each location's team members in daily work order requests to include team member work-space revisions and inventory control as warranted.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Facilities Manager with coordination with vendors, the oversight of general maintenance of all credit union properties, renovation/construction of current or new facilities and maintenance of all mechanical assets and structures.
- Works with third-party providers and vendors to ensure that work is completed according to approved scope of work /vendor estimate for services at all assigned credit union locations.
- Performs electrical work, basic plumbing, light bulb replacement, exterior cleaning, trash pickup, facility cleanup, maintenance for company vehicles, equipment/supplies setup for functions, large item transportation, monthly facility inspections, and works with the Facilities Manager to determine when outside vendors are required.
- Serves as a first-line responder before and after normal business hours (including weekends, late evenings, and early mornings) for building issues, as directed. This includes climate control, odors, spills, damages, security, emergencies, and repairs.
- Assists the Facilities Manager in coordinating with third party vendors to ensure that all maintenance and construction projects are performed on time and within specifications of the job.
- Supervises security-related tests and maintenance such as annual fire systems tests and fire drills.
- Orders and distributes materials used for light facility maintenance.
- Researches and resolves facility related issues.
- Maintains a professional and pleasant demeanor in all interactions.
- Maintains the facilities database, ensuring proper documentation of facilities documents, equipment, and supplies.
- Assists the Facilities Manager with facility-related matters of the Business Continuity Plan for the credit union.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Travels to any location as needed.
- Works in multiple locations.
- Available to work flexible schedules including occasional nights and weekends.
- Driver's license and dependable transportation with a satisfactory driving record is required.
- Complies with all Credit Union safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Attends meetings as required; reports to work on time and as scheduled; adheres to facility dress code.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years facilities maintenance with multiple property responsibility preferred
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Knowledge and ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools.
- Ability to successfully pass motor vehicle check (MVR) annually.
- Ability to read and interpret facility operation-related documents (i.e. blueprints).
- Strong facility-related troubleshooting and repair skills/
- 1 year certificate from college or technical school in a facility-related discipline (i.e. NATE/HVAC Certificate) preferred.
- Experience with facility-related third-party vendor oversight preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
