Facility Attendant (Part-Time) - City of Fairfield, California

Under general supervision, the Facility Attendant will oversee programs and rental activities. This includes opening and closing buildings, monitoring facility uses including facility and guest safety during rentals, setting up tables and chairs for rentals, City programs and events, performing light janitorial and custodial duties, ensuring compliance of established rules and procedures for the use of facilities, and performing other duties as required. Facility Attendants are very important for the overall facility user experience and a key member of the team that creates an outstanding event or program.

Please Note: Positions are part-time, year-round, non-benefited, and limited to working no more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Candidates must be available to work a varied schedule to meet program needs, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is assigned at both indoor and outdoor facilities, and may include exposure to unsanitary conditions, odors, cleaning chemicals, and some noise. The succesful candidate must be able to work variable hours, including mornings, late evenings, holidays, and weekends.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds); pushing; pulling; crawling; climbing; and prolonged periods of standing. Lifting above the shoulders, working off a ladder, manual dexterity, and good vision and hearing are also required.
 
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Under general supervision from a Parks & Recreation Facilities Worker or Parks & Recreation Manager.
